Christmas Time & How God Is Working Mircales

Dec. 18, 2009

For Christams, as you know, we had everyone make a Wish List so everyone would get something under their Christmas Tree. We had over 200 gifts to give. Many of our 10 Churches, schools, Siniguage&goups bought gifts, donated money, or did gift drives. One lady donated $100, a school did a toy drive, just so many gifts came init was amazing. Our Food Pantry team worked very hard making sure every name got a gift and made sure we had extra gifts incase we had some new families join.

Dispite the the Big snow fall we got in Dec., the same day the Food Pantry was to be opened, we still decided to open anyway. People got their groceries, their roast chickens & the fixings for a Christmas dinner and also their Christmas gifts. Over 75 families came out in that Snow Blizzered, ( feeding around 200 people) some even walked and about 30 volunteers came out too. We had volunteers that came out just to see if we needed help. One man cleaned the sidewalk, some drove the people home who walked there, even 2 guys stood outside all day and gave out the chickens, IN THE SNOW! Kids carried bag of food to their cars and even helped them carry their gifts. It was a wonderful day. Those people were so greatful for everything they got. People were even crying tears of happiness from the recievers to the volunteers. You have to experiance the joy that we got from working the Pantry. As you can amagine the Pantry is pretty empty now. We just found out that the SJ Food Bank, where we shop for some of our food, is not getting a lot of donations or the kind of everyday food we hand out. We get some food from them but 80% will have to buy or have donated. We are now calling on our 10 Churches, schools and anyone else who would like to help. It seems like we just got done Christmas and now in 2 weeks Jan. 16, 2010 it is time again for the Food Pantry to be open, the 1st.Pantry of the New Year 2010. We keep increasing the number of families that come every time we're opened.
Yes, 3 new families did join that same Pantry Day and we did have gifts for them too. By the end of the day all gifts were and extra gifts were gone. These people told us if it wasn't for us they wouldn't be having a Christmas. One lady even told us Now she can put up her Christamas Tree.

One thing I like share with you is how GOD is working with us at the Pantry. As you might have read in my other blogs Thanksgiving we were collecting turkeys to give out. Turkey came from all over, even the day of the pantry people kept dropping them off. We had big ones and small ones all sizes. After the day befor the Pantry was to open we stopped counting how many turkys we got, we were just praying we had enough for everyone. When the very last family came we handed out the very last turky. 67 families came and 67 turkys were given out.
Christmas 2 weeks befor the pantry was to open someone gave 4 new pairs of jean not knowing who to give them to. I held onto them looking for that right person who needed jeans and the size too. About a week and a half later I was looking at them praying on who should get them. As I was looking at them my cell phone rang and a lady, who I got to know, who now comes to the pantry, was telling me about her teenage son who didn't get to go Back-to-school shopping this school year because they didn't have the money. He told his girlfriend they were just to poor. She told me his clothes started to real look worn out and his pants started to rip at the bottom. Kids at school started making fun of him. She really felt bad but there was nothing she could do. I looked at those new jeans and asked her what her sons size was. She told me and would you believe they were just his size. We also found a $30 Mall gift card with her sons name on it. I was the only one who knew her story. Now you see GOD REALLY does work mircales. There are many other stories and there will be many more to come just keep reading my blogs and you will see how GOD is working Mircales.

Thank You God!
